One of the golden rules of journalistic photography must be that there's no going back for a second take. I try to force myself to get as much as possible in one round of shooting, without assuming there will be a second take at a later time. But I always make an exception for the Tokyo JR, and especially the stretch between Ochanomizu and Akihabara stations. Maybe it's just me... If I ever film a movie, it will feature the east end of the eastbound Ochanomizu platform. It must be the mixture of the split platform that's forced to peel in two separate levels as the train lines twist off in separate directions, along with the precarious perch high above the river below, which by the way is bisected by yet another train line piercing through each opposite bank. |
